I am interested in your story. It is natural to feel overwhelmed at times and it is not a sign of weak character to seek help. As we explore the internal conflicts and patterns that get in the way of living fully, healing and change can result. Insight can also emerge from actions taken in life ~ what it is that you do and how you do it ~ and this is also explored in therapy.
While my focus is primarily on the present, understanding the influence of past experiences and relationships is also important. I draw on a range of psychotherapy techniques that complement my psychoanalytically informed approach. Somatic methods are used to strengthen the mind-body connection. The role of psychological defenses and how they serve to protect you or hold you back is explored. Also, applying an integrative medicine perspective, the backdrop of lifestyle factors - such as sleep and nutrition - can be pivotal in supporting healing and personal growth.
